After losing all hope to deworm the unfriendliest cats in the shelter, i bought two packs of butter yesterday. The idea was to trick them into licking the sticky butter balls and to swallow the bitter pills.

The cats did not pay too much attention to the butter…. some did me a favor and licked them a tiny bit. Leaving the pill untouched, they gazed at me with disrespect and moved back to their affairs.

I put the butter in the top drawer and left the room for a minute.

When I came back, the plastic bag was on the floor and ripped apart, Darya was hovering above it,the butter was gone and worst of all so was its wrapping.

When your dog eats a pack of butter you have two hours to get to the vet, get a shot and receive the pack back along with the contents of his stomach.

Fortunately, Sari Cohen Aronson, our vet, did us a favor and opened the clinic despite the late hour.

In this case one of the packs got out but another one managed to get through. We did an x-ray and found it in the intestines. Can’t wait to see it again, in its new natural form.
