Six days ago, the dog Charlie, who was adopted a month ago by a family living near Jerusalem, disappeared.
In the morning, the owners left him in their yard as usual, they didn’t lock the gate, because they live in a quiet area, and when they returned for lunch, he was gone.
Certain types of dogs, such as Stafford terriers and pitbulls get stolen more often than others, for dog fights, so this version came to mind first.
The owners began to look for a dog and to hang announcements all around his village. From time to time, someone told them that the dog was seen but he ran away, this gave hope.
Half an hour ago, the owner of the dog called and said that he went to redeem him in east Jerusalem, the kidnappers contacted him thanks to the phone number on the collar.
Perhaps because the dog is castrated, or too friendly, he did not fit their needs.
I hope the owners of Charlie have learned their lesson from this story, and I hope we are all a bit more aware of this problem.
